Bob Dylan had “the Band”. Tim McGraw has “the Dancehall Doctors”. Ledfoot Larry has “The Real Deal”.
They’ve kicked around many ideas before…often times just joking around. But even when they were serious, any ideas just seemed like long, needless extensions of a name. So the idea was sort of set to the side. But as time went on, a resounding theme came about when people spoke of them…that they were authentic, and to be taken as a real musical force. Larry often found himself saying things along the lines of “…these guys are the real deal”, and the like. Finally after one show, it just clicked. Combined with a late night, post-show viewing of the movie “Maverick”, the imagery and name came together in one fell swoop. And the rest, as they say, is history.
